We teach through experience because students learn best through experience…and there’s no shortage of experiences to be had at Orchard Friends. Whether it’s a class field trip or a fun community event like our annual Run & Ride 5K or chili cookoff, we stay active: growing, learning, and connecting by doing. 

Our teachers take the same approach to deepening their expertise. They stay abreast of developments in special education, attend conferences, pursue advanced degrees and certifications—and share what they’ve learned with our staff and parents. Their willingness to adjust and adapt; their ability to contextualize new information, theory, and techniques and apply them in ways that work for their own style and for their students’ needs shines in each classroom, every day.
