Press RoomRIVERTON, NJ – Orchard Friends School (OFS) has the distinction of being the only non-profit organization in South Jersey to be selected by the University of Pennsylvania as a community service project for Wharton’s Management 100 program. Wharton, one of the most prestigious business schools in the country, selected Orchard Friends as one of just six Philadelphia-area non-profits.
Orchard Friends School provides quality education to students with language-based learning differences. The Wharton team of undergraduate students will plan and execute a campaign aimed at increasing the awareness of language-based learning differences and the alternative educational opportunities available. Wharton chose Orchard Friends because of the school’s progressive, multi-dimensional, multi-sensory curriculum and individualized programs designed to assess each child’s unique way of learning and unlock his or her full potential.
“This is an exciting opportunity to work with the brightest young minds to create more awareness about the nature of language-based learning differences, their signs and symptoms and the various resources available to the community,” said John Keeley, Head of School, Orchard Friends, who will serve as the key contact person for the Wharton project.
John Keeley, Orchard Friends’ Head of School, met with the Management 100 team at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School on September 23 to begin work on a semester-long community service project aimed at increasing the awareness of language-based learning differences and the alternative educational opportunities available, like Orchard Friends in Riverton, the only South Jersey-based non-profit organization selected by Wharton for this project. |
